New design added: Arcade Stick

The release of Street Fighter IV on home consoles is certainly creating something of a buzz. Could this be a return to form for the series? HD Remix was great but we totally expect Street fighter IV to put 2D fighters back on the map by taking the competitive vibe of the arcade into the living room. We dusted off our sticks in preparation and revisited previous versions of Street Fighter, even the EX versions, lol. In doing so we realised the close relationship between people and their arcade sticks and came up with our latest design.

I can tell you…it’s amazing. I got it the day before release. Just like the proper originals, easy to learn but hard to master. Some of the moves are so hard to execute in training let alone in a fight. Maybe I’m just rubbish!

  2. I got to play today, and quite simply it’s fantastic. The graphics are absolutely incredible, there’s a whole new array of tactics thanks to the focus and ex moves – it’s just bloody excellent.

Although, my GOD Seth is a hard boss to beat!

I’ve been practicing using the d-pad which is slightly easier and I can now perform supers and ultras in both directions! ha! All ye shall bow down at the sight of my awesome SF4 power.

  4. Oh, the second I get a copy online, you’re getting your arse handed to you my friend! 😉

  5. ARRRRGHHHHH! Damn these cross platform inconstancies! I was playing on PS3 last night, but unfortunatly I am a cheapskate and so bought the 360. Shame… Let’s just assume that I would have kicked your arse, and leave it at that… cool? 😉

Darn…without the arcade stick, you know the 360 version is inferior. But even so, I agree – you would kick my ass.

  7. Yeah, I’d have to agree there – I was surprised at how easily I could pull moves out on the PS3 joypad, compared to my experiences of HD Remix on the 360.
Might have to invest in a stick.

  8. Good luck on trying to get hold of a decent arcade stick. They seem to be in short supply.. unless you’re willing to pay for overpriced ones on eBay. You’re looking at £50 for the old Hori Ex2 and well over £100 for the bog standard Mad Catz SFIV stick. The Mad Catz Tournament Edition stick will fetch much, much more.. that’s the big one with Sanwa parts and a nice compartment to tuck away the cable. Me want.

I would like an arcade stick, but tbh I’ve got really used to using the d-pad now. Once you play enough and get ‘Street Fighter thumb’ then it’s very easy to slide over the directional buttons to pull off combo’s.
