About this design

The Shoryuken a.k.a the Dragon Punch is arguably the most powerful move in Street Fighter. Translated from japanese as "Rising Dragon Fist", Ryu and Ken execute the Shoryuken by jumping into the air while performing an uppercut.

Like the Hurricane kick, Ryu and Ken ended up with different versions of the same move. Ryu's punch would knock the opponent down with a single strike whereas Ken's version moves in a sweeping arc and could hit multiple times. While Ryu showed reserve, Ken showed great flare. His hard hitting Shoryukens enveloped his fists and opponents in flame, true to Ken's flamboyant nature.

Like the Hadoken, the Shoryuken became an iconic move that was often mimicked in other games, not just in looks but also in its input motion. Those who persevered with the move's tricky input and mastered pulling it off on command were rewarded with a whole new level of depth.

This design is our salute to the mighty Shoryuken a.k.a the Dragon Punch, arguably the most powerful move in fighting game history.
